The George Institute - a medical research organisation affiliated with Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney and the University of Sydney - is a worldwide leader in medical research. Since its inception in 1999, the Institute has conducted major research into the prevention and treatment of chronic disease. More recently, researchers have completed the largest ever study of type 2 diabetes treatments and leading global research into the risk factors and causes of cardiovascular disease.

The George Institute Centre for CardioVascular Health draws directly on this research expertise to inform its clinical treatment of cardiovascular patients. Research leaders and clinical specialists work together to provide the highest levels of diagnosis and treatment.
